Born Free USA’s Zoo Check Campaign

With our Zoo Check form, you can help us track abuses and substandard conditions suffered by animals in zoos, aquariums, circuses, or other places that exhibits animals.

Born Free USA works tirelessly to fight wild animal captivity and the cruelty involved. We want to keep wildlife in the wild.

Because our resources are limited, and there are so many hundreds and hundreds of facilities that keep animals, we need you to help us.

Your input can come to us in one of two ways.

Acrobat PDF Form: Print out this form and take it with you when you go to the zoo, aquarium, circus, or other place that exhibits animals. Fill it out in as detailed a way as you can, take photos or video if possible, and send your handwritten form back to us via regular mail.
Online Form: Print out form, take it to the exhibiting place, and when you return use the notes on your form to fill in the online form.
The more detailed our evidence, the stronger our case with the USDA or other agencies to make positive changes for the animals.

For an idea of what to look for, see our investigation into Roadside Zoos. Some of these facilities are dangerous, so please use caution when photographing the animals, staying back well out of danger.

If we work together we can try to shut down substandard facilities, improve conditions for individual animals, and ultimately see a day when wild animals only remain in the wild.
