When I first started designing jewelry one of my favorite gems to design with was the delicate odd shaped pearls from Lake Biwa, Japan. 

 The cultivation stopped in the 1990’s because the lake became very polluted and these pearls are now rare and difficult to find.

This long drop Biwa Pearl pair was one of my favorites and I designed these earrings with cabochon pink tourmalines and diamonds in a free formed style gold….all hand-fabricated.

They are now for sale in our Vintage Collection on deleuse.com and in our Fairfax, Ca store.
